Green:

  1. Structure: unicellular, multicellular, colonial cellular
    1. Chlorophylls A and B, has cell walls, stores starch, have flagellum

Brown:

  1. Structure: Chlorophylls A and C, leaf like structures called Blades,
Small gas filled bead / berry like structures on the underside of the blades float the blades for photosynthesis
The stem is called a Stipe
The root like area is called Hold Fast
    1. Found along the shore line, has strong structure to withstand waves

        Macrocystis
, aka giant kelp, important habitat for marine animals, stipes can be up to 100ft
      4.
      5. 8.4 Gas filled floats of Macrocystis life blades for photosynthesis

Red:

  1. More delicate in structure
    1. Found in deeper waters
